Every deck can be renamed and reconfigured after it's created. This article covers how to open a deck for editing, which fields you can actually change, and what happens if you edit the same deck from two devices before they sync.
Opening a deck for editing
From a deck's detail screen, there are two ways to open the edit form:
- Tap the settings card near the top of the screen, the one showing Review Mode, Retention, Max New/Day, and Max Reviews/Day.
- Tap the ••• menu in the top-right corner, then choose
Edit.
Both open the same form, pre-filled with the deck's current values.
What you can edit
- Deck Name. Required. Save stays disabled if this is left blank.
- Description. Optional free-text note.
- Retention. Opens the same picker used at creation.
- Max new cards/day and Max reviews/day. Each opens a prompt to enter a number from 0 to 9999.

Save stays disabled until something in the form actually differs from the deck's current values, and the name field isn't blank.
Review Mode is locked
Review Mode is shown in the edit form as a read-only row with a lock icon next to it. It can't be changed once a deck exists, only chosen at creation.
Note
The row is labeled with the note: "Review mode cannot be changed as it would disrupt the FSRS algorithm."
