The rest of the Settings screen covers your account: syncing data across devices, managing your subscription, reaching support, and signing out or leaving. This article covers each of these actions and what to expect from it.
Sync now
flangu syncs automatically: when the app comes to the foreground, and again a short while after you make changes. The Sync now row in the Sync section lets you trigger a sync immediately instead of waiting.
The row shows how long ago your last sync completed, such as "5 min ago" or "Never" if you haven't synced yet. Tapping it shows a spinner while the sync runs.
Note
Because automatic sync already runs in the background, manual sync is rarely necessary. Use it if you've just made changes on another device and want them here right away.
If you lose your device
Your decks, flashcards, review history, settings, and statistics all sync to flangu's servers, so losing your phone or switching devices doesn't lose your data. Sign in with your account on the new device and everything comes back automatically: there's no manual restore step or backup file to find.
Your streaks and scheduling data come back too. They aren't stored as separate numbers; they're calculated from your synced review history, so as soon as that history is back, so are they.
Caution
The one thing that doesn't come back is anything made offline on the old device that never got the chance to sync. If you created or edited cards offline shortly before losing the device, those changes were never uploaded and aren't recoverable.
Cached audio is the exception, and it isn't something you need to worry about: it lives only on-device and isn't synced, but it also isn't something you can lose in a meaningful sense — it regenerates automatically the next time you tap a word. See Audio and text-to-speech.
Signing out with Logout is not the same as losing a device — see Logout below. Delete account is different again: it's immediate and irreversible — see Delete account below.
Manage subscription and Restore purchases
If you're a Pro subscriber, the Subscription section shows two rows:
Manage subscription opens your platform's native subscription management screen (the App Store or Google Play), where you can change plans or cancel.
Restore purchases re-links an existing purchase to your account. This is useful if you reinstalled the app or signed in on a new device and your Pro status hasn't appeared yet.
If you're not subscribed, only Restore purchases is shown. Tapping it with no active subscription to restore tells you there's nothing to restore rather than reporting success.
Both actions talk directly to the App Store or Google Play, not to flangu's servers. flangu only finds out about the result afterward.
Contact us
Contact us, in the Other section, opens a form for reaching the flangu team directly.
Choose a category, then fill in a title and a message:
| Category | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Error/bug | Something isn't working as expected. |
| Feedback | General thoughts or suggestions. |
| Question | Anything you're unsure about. |
| Other | Anything that doesn't fit the above. |
Any reply is sent to the email address on your account. You need an internet connection to submit the form.
Note
This is different from the per-card feedback icon described in Linguistic metadata. That one reports incorrect AI-generated data on a specific card. Contact us is for everything else.
Delete account
Delete account permanently removes your flangu account. To confirm, type DELETE into the field and tap the confirm button; the button stays disabled until you do.
Deletion is immediate. There is no grace period and no way to undo it once confirmed. It removes:
- Your profile and settings
- All decks and flashcards
- All review history
- Your subscription record on flangu's side
Caution
Deleting your flangu account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. flangu only removes its own records; it has no way to cancel billing on the platform's side. If you're subscribed, cancel through Manage subscription (or your platform's subscription settings) before or after deleting your account, or you'll continue to be billed.
Logout
Logout, at the bottom of the Settings screen, asks you to confirm and then signs you out. Your data stays on flangu's servers and is restored the next time you log back in. This is not the same as deleting your account.
